Peter Bernard Hoidale founded the company that bears his name in 1946. Starting from a small office in Wichita, Kansas, selling fuel storage tanks and pumping units, the company had its first geographic expansion in the mid-1970s. This expansion came in the form of branch offices in Garden City and Chanute, Kansas. As the company continued to grow through the '70s and early '80s, we added additional product lines to complement our fuel equipment business, such as air compressors and lubrication equipment. By the mid-'80s, Hoidale had expanded into Oklahoma, opening offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The 1990s brought about another expansion of our business into electronic tank monitoring and point-of-sale systems. These new POS systems were designed to provide our customers with more accurate information about how their businesses are performing. The mid 90's also saw the opening of our Kansas City branch office. Since the turn of the new century, we have again expanded our product lines to better meet the existing, as well as future, customer demand for heavy-duty lift equipment, and automated lubrication systems. We will continue to expand both our product lines as well as our geographic reach to better serve our customer base as it grows in new and exciting directions.

I have been volunteering with our local United Way here in Wichita for over 10 years and am the board chair this year. In addition to funding partner non-profit agencies to help them run programs like Meals on Wheels, after school mentoring at Boys and Girls Club, and one on one mentoring through Big Brothers and Big Sisters, United Way also serves at the backbone grant writing organization working on preventing homelessness here in Wichita.
These grants bring in significant dollars into our community providing essential funding to a large number of non-profits working to aid those in our community who are struggling with housing. So far in 2021 United way has partnered with Dillon’s to provide over $ 40,000.00 to small food pantries throughout our area, supporting them as demand for service has spiked. This month United Way has partnered with Wichita State basketball to raise over $ 20,000.00 to provide books to kids and promote literacy. This is in addition to the work they already do with the Dolly Parton Imagination library to provide monthly books to pre-school aged children to help encourage reading at a pre-school level. In March we will be helping fund renovations for the 316 project, a partnership between city, county, non-profit, and business organizations to provide additional transitional housing for people working to overcome housing issues. You might be able to tell I am very passionate about the work this organization does to help build up our community.
With “Community” being one of Hoidale’s core values I feel it is important for our company to be an active participant in our communities by donating our time and talents to volunteer projects.
